Background We converted fifteen Staybridge Suites and two Residence Inns to a new extended stay brand after the recent purchase of Sonesta Hotels by ReitManagement and Research (RMR) and Hospitalities Properties Trust (HPT). This assignment was on an accelerated timeline of 6 months. We needed a hierarchy and name that represented the brand extension as well as a way to set the extended stay product apart from the main collection in order to avoid brand confusion.

“I had the pleasure of working with Jodi on the grand opening of the Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort. She was an integral part of the team during pre-opening and quickly set up the marketing department, developed the hotels positioning, a solid go-to-market strategy and a public relations campaign. Jodi created our opening theme concept and organized all the event details for our pre-opening party with over 1000 attendees. Her efforts contributed to strong results including occupancy and ADR. Jodi took on the added responsibility to set up our Spa, determine programming and operational elements until we brought on a spa manager. She continued to be actively evolved in the management after its opening.

Jodi reported directly to me while I was Vice President and General Manager of Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort and was an integral part of the Executive Committee. As Director of Marketing, Jodi Cross developed the Hotels positioning, managed all marketing aspects of the Hotel for four years subsequently. She was responsible for the creation of all pre/post-opening collateral, web site development and copy and advertising campaigns. She oversaw our Public Relation Agencies in Miami, New York & South America and the Ad Agency. She created our marketing plan, strategy and budgets for the resort. She oversaw a number of advertising campaigns that led to the Hotel achieving our REVPAR goals.

Jodi talents of creativity combined with an eye for detail ensured the success of the Hotels marketing. She is hard working and extremely knowledgeable and delivers results on a timely basis.”

As a marketer, she truly enjoys thinking out-of-the-box without going over-budget. She’s tough yet logical; smart and funny.
